The Endoscopy Unit has four procedure rooms with state-of-the-art equipment. This unit provides endoscopic procedures to approximately 14,000 people per year and is a tertiary referral centre for patients from other hospitals for both Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) and Oesophagogastric (OG) Endoscopic Ultrasound.
The unit provides endoscopy procedures to both inpatients and outpatients. A full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed in the unit, and cutting edge instruments and accessories, combined with specialist endoscopy doctors and nurses, allow us to treat a wide variety of patients and conditions. The Endoscopy Unit also operates a National Bowel Cancer Screening service with three consultants and a clinical endoscopist leading this service.
