

From Thursday, 8 May 2025, our main Guildford hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital, is introducing a new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) parking system to improve your experience on site.
This barrier-free system captures your vehicle’s registration as you enter and exit. For visitors who need to pay for parking, charges are calculated based on the length of stay, and payment can be made at on-site machines before you leave.
If you have a Blue Badge, you are entitled to free parking - but you must register your vehicle. There are two ways to do this:
Register once and your permit stays active until your Blue Badge expires.

You can register before or after your appointment, but it must be done before you leave the car park.
You may register your permit either before or after your appointment — just make sure it is registered before leaving the car park.
Only one car can be linked to your permit at a time. To use a different car:
You can update your registration online by logging into your account and editing the permit.
If you’re just dropping off or collecting, you’ll have 20 minutes free. If staying longer, register the Blue Badge at a validation point, at the parking office at the main entrance or in the Cancer Centre reception, Level A.
No — you can bring a photo or copy on your phone instead.
Yes you do need to pay. The Blue Badge is only for use by the holder and so if they are not accompanying you on your visit to the hospital you must pay for parking.
