Welcoming new Non-Executive Director Stephanie Smith | News

This month we have welcomed a new Non-Executive Director to the Royal Surrey family. Stephanie Smith has joined the Trust as our Finance, Performance and Transformation Non-Executive Director, shadowing Martin Hedley until he steps down from his role in March 2025.

Stephanie is a chartered engineer with a wealth of experience managing transformation programmes. Her CV boasts high profile roles at Rolls-Royce, Deloitte and British Airways, where she worked in digital transformation. More recently she was Chief Operating Officer at Allianz insurance, before becoming Chief Transformation Officer at global inspection company LRQA.

Stephanie is hoping to use her extensive experience in transformation and operations to help make Royal Surrey the best it can be.

She said: “I am really excited to start this new chapter at Royal Surrey, which is my local hospital and very familiar to me as a patient and service user. I have had both of my children here and family members have had excellent treatment at the Trust. 

“I am looking forward to getting into the community and helping to support local people. Royal Surrey is a very special place and I hope that we can share some of this best practice across the NHS.”
