Our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team provides physiotherapy support for adults aged 16 years and above who are struggling with musculoskeletal issues.
Our aim is to provide a thorough assessment, to understand your individual needs. We will then tailor a treatment plan to you, making it specific with realistic goals set within the session.
Physiotherapy generally consists of exercises, advice and hands-on treatment. Self-management is encouraged but this is balanced with support and practical advice.
Your appointment letter will confirm the location of your appointment.
Our appointments are held at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, in the musculoskeletal department.
At your appointment, we will introduce ourselves to you, and give you the opportunity to ask questions.
Often we will need to carry out an assessment and discuss any scans that may have been taken.
Appropriate clothing such as shorts for a leg problem or vest top for an upper arm problem can be useful.
We will discuss any further investigations and plan the management of your condition with you.
Guildford and Waverley GPs can refer adults to the Musculoskeletal Service (MSK) for the triage and assessment of conditions relating to joint, muscle, tendon structures of the arms, legs or spine.
Our service is in the Physiotherapy Department, Level B, West Wing, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, GU2 7XX.
