Patients have praised Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust for treating them with respect, kindness and compassion during their inpatient care, according to a national survey.
The Adult Inpatients Survey, published by the Care Quality Commission, also found that patients had confidence and trust in the doctors and nurses caring for them.
More than 500 people shared their experiences, with many also highlighting the quality of information provided when leaving the hospital and how staff communicated clearly using language they could understand.
The survey captures the experiences of people who stayed at least one night in hospital across 131 NHS acute and specialist trusts.
Results for Royal Surrey show that patients’ positive experiences have remained consistent with previous years.
Vicki Mumford, Professional Director of Nursing and Cancer who oversees patient experience said, said: “We are delighted that our patients have told us they feel cared for with compassion, dignity, and respect.
“This feedback is a tribute to the hard work and commitment of our staff, who go above and beyond every day to provide high quality care.”
“I would also like to thank all of the patients who took the time to complete the survey and share their views on what we are doing well and where we need to improve.”
The trust will now use the feedback to put into place action plans to further enhance the high standard of care already provided.
