The finalists in the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust’s annual staff awards have been revealed, celebrating individuals and teams recognised for their outstanding contributions.
The three finalists in each of the 16 categories represent a wide range of roles across the trust and were selected from 828 nominations.
The two Patients’ Choice awards, one for an individual and one for a team, had more nominations than ever before. The trust is very grateful to everyone who took the time to show their thanks in this way for the care or treatment they’ve experienced at Royal Surrey.
Joss Bigmore, Chair of the Trust, is part of the panel reviewing the nominations and given the very difficult task of selecting the final few. He said:
“It’s been another record-breaking year in terms of the number of nominations for our staff awards. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate one of our brilliant teams for an award. Each and every nomination spoke of the incredible dedication of our staff and the great sense of pride in their work. I’d like to congratulate all 828 nomination recipients and our finalists; you’ve really made a difference to those around you. Thank you and enjoy the limelight!”
The finalists in the Patients’ Choice Individual category are Cyril Kulathil, a healthcare assistant on Elstead Ward; Dr Ozan Hanci, who works in paediatrics; and Katherine Keeble, one of our physiotherapists.
The Patients’ Choice Team finalists are the staff on Eashing Ward, which specialises in the care of older people; the Jasmine Team, our specialist maternity mental health support team; and the Oncology Research Team, who support advancements in cancer treatment.
The winners will be announced at the Royal Surrey Stars Awards event in November at Guildford’s Harbour Hotel. The event is solely funded by sponsors and the trust would like to thank them all for their generous support. This year’s partner sponsors are Medirest and MTX Contracts Ltd. K2 Consultancy, Wavenet UK Ltd, Russell Cawberry and Royal Surrey Charity are also sponsoring this year’s event.
