Our Partners

Many hands make light work, and we are lucky enough to have a number of fantastic partners who work with us to deliver our research programme.

The National Institute of Health And Care Research

NIHR logo The Department of Health and Social Care funds all health and care research in England through the National Institute of Health And Care Research (NIHR).

The NIHR is responsible for approving research studies being carried out in the NHS, and for allocating appropriate funds.

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust hosts the NIHR’s Clinical Research Network (CRN) for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region. As well as funding research studies, the CRN also provides training, support, mentorship and networking opportunities for researchers.

This puts Royal Surrey at the centre of our region’s clinical research community.

The University of Surrey

University of Surrey logo The University of Surrey are our neighbours in Guildford, but we share more than just a postcode. We work on a great many joint research projects, particularly through our joint venture, the Clinical Research Facility.

A number of clinicians at Royal Surrey also have professorships, and other academic roles at the University. Royal Surrey patients also participate in, and benefit from, a number of studies conducted at the University.

Life Sciences companies

Companies that develop and manufacturer clinical treatments and equipment (collectively referred to as Life Sciences companies) perform an important role in research.

We believe that the best results in research often come from a close relationship between the company developing the treatment, the clinician administering it, and the participant following it.
